avoiding the spam bots

Avoiding the spam bots…

A spam bot is like an internet bloodhound. It sniffs around websites for email addresses, which are then sold to spammers.

If you want to keep your inbox free of spam, don’t leave a scent on your blog for the bloodhound to find.

If you post your email address on your blog, write it in a way that doesn’t alert the bloodhound…

…leave out the @

…leave out the dots

If your email address looks like this, it won’t be recognised and collected for the spammers… bloodhound {at} wordpress {dot} com

But a human wanting to contact you can easily insert @ instead of {at} and . instead of {dot}

Anyone else got tips for avoiding spam bots?
